July 2010: 250 words and counting

have compiled a list of all the word Celeste knows at 2 years - being added to each day at an amazing rate. apparently 5 times the average, pls excuse a proud mama x

June 2010: First Question???

first question was 'Where's Kate?.... very popular question which is applied to everyone all the time... 'at work' is the response to many of these and Celeste treid to figure out this 'at work' idea by applying it to everything... including herself and Teddy... e.g 'Teddy go to work?', also 'at school'... she tests that 'papa at school?' smart cookie

June 2010: Clarissa's Birthday Party

Celstes's first birthday party was Clarissa's at 'little dynamos' she gets her frist glimpse at the whole birthday party idea - she gets the song is linked to the ballons as well as the cake.... only concept she struggles with is the idea of giving the toy away!

May 2010: Toothpaste for dinner

Tonight is this all Celeste ate. Mealtime is most challenging part of day! Acceptable food includes: corn, corn, corn and corn at moment. Chips good. Sometime hummus ok :-)

May 2010: He's here to stay?

a more tranquil moment between brother and sister - although note the look of trempidation in teddy's eyes! CC's feeling towards Teddy had to decipher as her behaviour somewhat erratic! Over Easter we had kisses followed by furious face smacking, sometime it followed a routine where whe pointed out his eyes, nose and then head...'head' often accompanied by furious face smacking! poor teddy, we introduce the concept of the 'naughty stair' for the first time.

May 2010: Neighbourhood Friends

Delilah and Shania live on the corner of our street and just love Celeste. Playdough and park rides are their favourites pasttime togehter :-)

Easter 2010: Granny's last day of holidays

for monique's last day of holidays we decided on a trip to Vauclause House and a dip in the ocean after lunch - probably one of the last for the summer. Lunch @ Aqua Bar pictured.

Easter 2010: new friends in Newcastle

i'm not sure what non-verbal communication happened between Celeste and Alexandra - her three year old partner in crime... but after Alex followed CC up a down the stairs they began a cavort that took them into the restaurant, into the batherooms, in the pokie gambling den, into the kitchen and finally up the steps into a tower where Alx's mum and me stopped their toddler rampage. the funniest think to see was that they took turns leading each other, every change in direction accompanies with eye to key contact and giggles x

Easter 2010: First ice cream cone at Yamba

Cookie and Cream (mum's favourite x) was Celeste's first ice cream cone - at the Yamba RSL where we stopped for the night on the way back from Qld with Monique. Somewhat embarrassed that by the end of the trip Celeste had managed to form one of her first sentences... 'I want CHIPS!'

A fantastic interactive art installation at the Brisbane Museum of Modern Art

June 2010: 'Not in a House, not with a Mouse...!!'

I whole new work of opinion opens up to CC this week with the introduction of two key phases 'I want.... this / that one' as well as 'I don't like...' 'I don't like...' popped up applied to many things the day after a long session with 'Green Eggs and Ham' :-)

May 2010: Dancing tastes

displaying an eclectic range of musical tastes, CC rocks out to the spice girls and pearl jam x

May 2010: Joining words together

One of Celeste's first phases has been 'don't cry Teddy', in the same sing song voice that the boys used to use with her. 'Teddy happy', 'door close', 'Mummy's bag' 'spider sleeping' 'teddy sleeping' have come rushing out since then.

Easter 2010: Buderim - Easter Sunday and chocolate

Celeste was pretty spoilt over Easter withGranny bringing over gifts from Paris inclduing this wonderful dress from Mamie. Her delight when we ripped over the presents to find the clothes makes you wonder about the female's inate joy of fashion...!

Easter 2010: Buderim - lots of new words

Easter saw a huge explosion of words... corn, ham, easter, book, egg, along with everyone's name - were a few. Very impressed with her perfect pronunction of most of them
